Nowhere is this more apparent than in the current labor environment, where manufacturers are wrestling with unprecedented shortages of both white- and blue-collar workers and are looking for ways to both accelerate productivity on the factory floor and reduce costs. Indeed, in a recent IDC C-suite survey, 66% of manufacturing executives said that reducing costs/improving operational efficiency was their top business goal for 2023.
