Tools like case management platforms and document assembly have moved from being cuttingedge solutions to staples in the efficient operation of a law practice. Firms that are using it well tend to see increased efficiency, optimized workflow, and improved customer service.
But, of course, practical and cost considerations make the evaluation a bit more complicated. Those considerations can create a disconnect between recognition of the importance of legal technology and implementation. 77% of respondents to a 2021 legal industry survey listed “increasing importance of legal technology” as among the top trends expected to impact the industry, making it the number one trend for the survey. Only 36% of those same respondents said their firms were very prepared for that shift.
